The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) proudly welcomed the Family Medicine team from McMaster University, Canada, in an Academic Visit to the Primary Care Family Medicine Residency Program (Sp. KKLP).
This academic visit marked an important milestone in strengthening international collaboration in the field of primary care education. The visit provided a valuable platform for both institutions to engage in in-depth academic discussions, exchange knowledge and experiences, and share perspectives on the development of family medicine and the improvement of primary healthcare services in their respective countries.
During the visit, discussions focused on curriculum development, clinical training, community-based primary care, and best practices in family medicine education. The interaction between faculty members and residents fostered mutual learning and opened opportunities for future academic cooperation, research collaboration, and faculty exchange programs.
Through this international collaboration, FKIK UMSU continues to expand its global academic network and reaffirm its commitment to enhancing the quality of medical education. This initiative reflects FKIK UMSU’s ongoing efforts to prepare competent, compassionate, and globally minded family physicians who are ready to meet the challenges of modern healthcare and contribute positively to primary healthcare systems at both national and international levels.
